We live in a society of instant gratification, we want things now! This short term thinking poses a mayor barrier to tackle environmental problems. We are more concerned about increasing taxes than distant environmental threats.
Politicians loose popularity addressing controversial topics like closing down a coal power plant. Some tent to avoid the discussion and focus on satisfying the short term desires of the voters. We should support the brave long term thinkers. To show our support, and remind those who are short term minded, we place a symbolic monument of the distant threat of flooding due to climate change.
In sight of where politicians make legislation this monument made out of young trees is placed. The growth of these trees is altered into the shape of a ship.
